Casey
was my first show dog. She could take your breath away when she moved and
was so obsessed with toys she often fell asleep with one in her mouth and
two between her front legs. To this day I don't believe I ever taught Casey
anything. She was always at least two steps ahead of me. I loved her dearly
but never felt I really understood her. She was very independent and so smart
it was almost uncanny. While Casey generally didn't have a use for most people(unless
they would throw a toy for her) she took it upon herself to introduce me to
my good friends Florence and Doug at a dog show to which I will always be
grateful. Casey died peacefully in her sleep at age nine and half surrounded
by her toys.
